- Thomas Barry, P.L.S. founds "METRON" Land Surveying to provide quality land surveying services to Snohomish County. Barry residence serves as office and operations center.
- METRON establishes new corporate headquarters in downtown Arlington, Washington. Our centralized location affords expanded access to Skagit, Island, and Snohomish Counties. We become "Metron and Associates, Inc.", an S-Corporation of 7 employees.
- Purchase of survey-grade Global Position System (GPS) equipment allows us to expand into the larger arena of commercial construction and large subdivision surveying. Acquisition and establishment of control networks for big job sites becomes quicker and more efficient.
to 2001 - Growth, success, and software upgrades characterize a very busy time in our history. We emerge with a renewed commitment to our industry partners and commercial development clients. Investments in robotic total stations pay off substantially. Land use planning and permitting services are expanded.
- We expand northward into Skagit County by opening a branch office in the historic Uptowne Center Building above Mount Vernon's busy Skagit Valley Food Co-op. Metron begins offering Geographic Information Systems (GIS) services and data support to clients. We expand to 17 employees including four professionals and three field crews.
- Metron continues to mature and acquires several large contracts, which help firmly establish our position in the region as a high quality, technology-savvy land surveying, land use planning, and GIS company. The future looks bright.
